Tey: Does not mind sharing details of her life

While Malaysian Dreamgirls winner Tey Cindy is no stranger to controversy, she has not let those pressures force her to betray her principles.

She has taken criticism, gossip and even abuse by citizens and fellow contestants in her stride. Tey is determined not to let it bog down her dreams.

“I’m tired of people telling me how I should act or how I should speak. I just want to be comfortable enough in my own skin.”

The harsh realities aside, the show has provided her with some unexpected opportunities.

At first, there was the sudden popularity of her blog, www.jadezheng.com, despite the negative publicity that she received.

“I do not mind sharing the details in my life at all. This is where people can come to get to know the real me. Besides that, the process of creative writing is something I truly enjoy.”

She also credits the competition with providing her with her current job as copywriter with RedFM.

“I would be continuing my Masters now if not for the competition. I never would have thought to step into the working world so early in life.”

Despite her dreams of stardom, Tey is quite level-headed. For instance, the entertainment world's body conscious culture has had little impact on her. She claims that she lives to eat.

Readers of her blog can attest to this as they are regularly treated to pictures of various delicacies she samples at restaurants. Her mother's cooking has also been featured on the blog.

She also believes in having a permanent job rather than succumbing to the needs of the industry. For her it is just a matter of juggling auditions with work. She admits to some hardship but Tey is not one to back off from such challenges.

While details are under wraps, Tey hints that she is slated to appear in an episode of a soon-to-be aired reality show.

Despite some rough experiences Tey Cindy is an individual who has learned from her mistakes and that itself will take her far in life.
