Catwalk career

The final round of auditions for Malaysia’s first online reality series, the Malaysian Dreamgirl modelling competition, is happening this Saturday.

So, for all you girls who want to be the next Amber Chia, don’t miss the chance to kickstart your modelling career.

Tey Cindy (second from left, in white) overcame six others to win the Malaysian Dreamgirl title last season.
Tey Cindy (second from left, in white) overcame six others to win the Malaysian Dreamgirl title last season.

Last year, 21-year-old Tey Cindy was crowned the Malaysian Dreamgirl in the programme that was watched by half a million viewers in more than 120 countries.

Viewers voted via SMS for Cindy after a few months of watching her and the other girls go through the ups and downs of professional modelling online.

Who will win the title in the second season?

While the winner will be determined by the public, the girls will be put under the scrutiny of a panel of judges: model/actress Elaine Daly (who was also a judge in Season One), fashion stylist Lim Jimmy, modelling guru Andrew Tan and the founder of Beautilicious cosmetics Julie Wong.

This season’s Malaysian Dreamgirl winner will drive away with a Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 Lux (A) and receive a host of other prizes: RM10,000 cash, a HP Pavilion notebook, RM1,000 worth of Escada fragrances, RM1,000 of Beautilicious cosmetics, RM1,000 worth of Wacoal lingerie, RM1,000 Marie France Bodyline vouchers, RM1,000 Bella Skin Care vouchers, RM1,000 Svenson Hair Care vouchers, an exclusive spread in InTrend magazine and an exclusive portfolio by Andrewsmodels.

If you missed the previous auditions in Penang, Johor and Perak, make your way to Impiana KLCC Hotel and Spa on Saturday. Auditions are from 10am-5pm.

You have to be a Malaysian female between 18 and 28 this year, and not a Malaysian Dreamgirl Season One finalist, a professional model, a television or movie artiste.

Here’s a tip. Save yourself some time and get priority calling when you register at http://www.malaysiandreamgirl.tv.

Walk-ins will also be entertained. Oh, and bring along your MyKad and an RM10 registration fee.

Malaysian Dreamgirl Season Two runs for 10 weeks from March to May, and will feature two 30-minute episodes each week.
