Malaysian Dreamgirl is back

MALAYSIAN Dreamgirl, Malaysia’s first online reality series, is back! The second season of the reality series which is shown exclusively online chronicles the lives of 12 aspiring models as they live together and compete to be the next Malaysian Dreamgirl.

After audition ended in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Johor Baru and Penang over the last two months, 21 shortlisted contestants were selected. To make it to the final 12, they had to further impress the judges at the closed-door auditions held at the Capxion Media Studio in Petaling Jaya. They were put through photo shoots, catwalks and a series of interviews. The girls were hosted by Tune Hotels throughout the two-day auditions.

The judging panel made up of model/actress Elaine Daly, fashion stylist Lim Jimmy, Andrews Models founder Andrew Tan and Beautilicious cosmetics CEO Julie Wong had the challenging task of deciding who would make it as finalists.

“Even though we are only into our second year, I think the quality of girls this year has truly been inspiring. It was really difficult for us to decide the top 12 as the talent was really there,” Daly said.

Now that the final 12 are cast, all of them will stay together in an undisclosed location for up to two months. They will encounter a number of photo shoots, workshops and challenges, and also get a glimpse of the life of a model. Finalists will be eliminated every week based on SMS voting, and the last girl standing will be the next Malaysian Dreamgirl.

The Malaysian Dreamgirl winner will drive away with a Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 Lux (A), RM10,000, a HP Pavilion notebook, RM1,000 of Escada fragrances, RM1,000 of Beautilicious cosmetics, RM1,000 of Wacoal lingerie, RM1,000 Marie France Bodyline vouchers, RM1,000 Bella Skin Care vouchers, RM1,000 Svenson Hair Care vouchers and RM500 of Wella Professionals hair products. She will also get an exclusive spread in InTrend magazine and an exclusive portfolio by Andrews Models.

Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 is jointly presented by Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd (HP) & Intel, and supported by Chevrolet. It is produced by Capxion Media in association with Limkokwing University.

The first episode of Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 premieres tomorrow on www.malaysiandreamgirl.tv. New episodes will then be released every Thursday and Saturday with 20 episodes in all.
